Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and FinanceProbe (“FinanceProbe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized access. You are responsible for all activity on your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used unlawfully.

3. Description of the Service

FinanceProbe provides tools for exploring publicly available financial and market data, including company fundamentals, charts, valuation models, portfolio analytics, and related features. The Service is intended for research, education, and personal informational purposes only.

4. Not investment advice

FinanceProbe is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, or financial planner. Nothing on the Service constitutes investment, financial, tax, legal, or accounting advice, nor a recommendation, offer, or solicitation to buy, sell, or hold any security or other financial instrument. Any models, valuations, scores, or metrics shown are illustrative and depend on inputs and assumptions that may be incorrect. You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions and should consult a qualified professional before acting on any information presented.

Past performance is not indicative of future results. Markets are volatile and losses can exceed deposits. Data may be delayed, inaccurate, or incomplete.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to permit any third party to:

  • Use the Service in violation of any law or regulation;
  • Access, scrape, or extract data from the Service except as expressly permitted, or attempt to bypass rate limits or security controls;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service, except where this restriction is prohibited by law;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its infrastructure, or other users’ use of it;
  • Upload or transmit malicious code, or use the Service to send unsolicited communications;
  • Misrepresent your identity, impersonate another person, or create multiple accounts to evade restrictions;
  • Use the Service to make automated trading or order-routing decisions without your own independent verification.

6. User content

Some features let you upload data such as portfolio holdings, watchlists, notes, or broker statements (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant FinanceProbe a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, and display User Content solely to operate and improve the Service. If you create a shareable link, the corresponding content is accessible to anyone with the link until you revoke it.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any User Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.

7. Paid features

Some features may require a paid subscription or one-time purchase. Pricing, billing cadence, and refund terms will be disclosed at the point of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Taxes may apply. We may change pricing for new or renewing terms with reasonable notice. If a payment fails, we may suspend access to paid features until the issue is resolved.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, and trademarks, is owned by FinanceProbe or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal or internal business use. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

9. Third-party services and data

The Service relies on third-party data providers and infrastructure (for example, market-data APIs, email delivery, hosting, and authentication providers). Their data and services are provided subject to their own terms, and we do not warrant their accuracy or availability. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. FINANCEPROBE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT DATA, CALCULATIONS, OR OUTPUTS ARE ACCURATE, CURRENT, OR COMPLETE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FINANCEPROBE AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR INVESTMENT LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FinanceProbe and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or for other legitimate operational reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will give reasonable notice (for example, via email or an in-app notice) and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at the address below. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Texas, USA, except where mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information FinanceProbe collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to your use of the Service and is incorporated into the Terms of Service above.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide. When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, and a hashed password (or, if you sign in with Google, the profile information returned by Google). We record whether you accepted these Terms and, if applicable, whether you opted in to marketing communications.

Content you upload. If you use the portfolio tool, watchlists, notes, or similar features, we store the content you upload or enter (for example, broker statement files and the holdings, costs, and prices parsed from them).

Usage and device data. We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages viewed, features used, requests made, IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and timestamps. This is used for security, debugging, and product improvement.

Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and analyze usage. See Section 7.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • Authenticate you and secure your account;
  • Process portfolio uploads, compute analytics, and persist your saved data;
  • Communicate with you about your account, security, and material changes to the Service;
  • With your opt-in, send product updates, tips, and announcements;
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use uploaded portfolio data for advertising.

3. How we share information

We share personal information only with service providers (“subprocessors”) that help us run the Service, and only as needed for them to perform their function. Current categories include:

  • Hosting and infrastructure — cloud platforms that host our application and database;
  • Authentication — Google, if you choose to sign in with Google OAuth;
  • Email delivery — transactional and (if you opt in) marketing email providers, such as Resend;
  • Market and fundamentals data — third-party financial data APIs we query to render the Service;
  • Anti-abuse — services such as Google reCAPTCHA that help prevent automated abuse on sign-up and other endpoints;
  • Analytics and error reporting — to help us understand usage and fix issues.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, to protect the safety of our users or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will provide notice and continued protection consistent with this policy).

Anyone with a share link you create can view the portfolio content associated with that link until you revoke it.

4. Data retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or legitimate business reasons (for example, fraud prevention, audit trails, or backup rotation).

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect information, including transport encryption (HTTPS), password hashing, scoped credentials, rate limiting, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for choosing a strong password and protecting your credentials.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing message, by toggling the preference in your account, or by using the in-product opt-out endpoint.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use first-party cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as benchmark and risk-window choices in the portfolio tool), and measure how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser, but disabling them may break parts of the Service that depend on session state.

8. International data transfers

Information you provide may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, including countries that may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable threshold), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced through the Service or by email, and the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
